Comfort Food: From Sandwich to Dessert

On May 9, young chefs supported by the Children of Heroes Foundation gained a new culinary experience. The “Oleina – for Children. Cooking with Love” project gave the children an opportunity to try themselves as master chefs preparing comfort food dishes – familiar meals and flavors presented in a more modern, aesthetic, and restaurant-style way.

Together with a professional chef from the Yevhen Chernukha Cookery School, the children prepared:

  • an open-faced sandwich with tuna and cream cheese;
  • quick “Tender Veal” with Italian sauce;
  • chocolate mousse infused with thyme and served with madeleine cookies;
  • blackcurrant lemonade.
